LTP Academy general manager, player invited to participate in elite junior tournament

February 27, 2024

LTP Academy General Manager Patrick Hieber and LTP Academy athlete Sutton Severance have been invited to participate in one of the country’s most prestigious junior tennis tournaments.

Hieber will serve as a coach for the Brewer Team Cup in Alabama from March 2-5 while Severance will compete for the 16 and under boys’ title. Only the most successful coaches and players take part in the tournament.

“This is an incredible honor, and it’s further validation of the exceptional tennis program we offer at LTP Academy,” Hieber said. “These are our country’s highest caliber coaches and athletes, and we’re proud that we continue to cultivate some of the best junior players nationally.”

The United States Tennis Association has seven levels of events, with Level 1 being considered the National Championship. The Brewer Team Cup is a Level 1 tournament.

This year marks the second that Hieber will serve as a coach. He will provide guidance for a team of six players from three different age groups.

“It’s inspiring to meet young players who have exceptional talent and passion for this sport,” Hieber said. “For LTP Academy, it’s a great opportunity to showcase our approach on a national stage.”

This is the first time that Severance will play in this tournament. Selections are made based on players’ national ranking, and most typically rank in the top 50 nationally in their age group.

“Patrick has been my coach since I was 9 years old, and it will be an awesome experience having him as my coach at such an amazing event,” Severance said.
