Goal: Transition players from learning the basics to developing muscle memory, freeing up mental bandwidth to focus on strategic play.
Focus Areas:
Reinforcing Muscle Memory: Players lock in shot mechanics through repetition and focused drills (serves, returns, drops, and volleys).
Consistency and Control: Developing the ability to execute repeatable, high-percentage shots with reliable placement.
Game Preparation: Introduction to controlled, game-like drills that begin to combine shot selection with movement and positioning.
Freeing Mental Bandwidth: By solidifying muscle memory, players free their focus to start recognizing opportunities on the court and making strategic decisions.
Outcome: By the end of this series, players have moved beyond the basics and developed the skills to execute shots without overthinking. Muscle memory takes over, and players are ready to start layering in strategy during gameplay. This sets the stage for Advance Your Band, where players learn to use their skills with intention.
